Aquarius New Moon 17th February 2026

On 17th February a new moon, solar eclipse occurs in the Astrological sign of Aquarius.  This is the most powerful new moon of 2026; it is a moment of deep, cathartic transformation.

Symbolically, solar eclipses are seen as an inception point, a reset and a time for new beginnings.  In Aquarius, this energy is amplified and the signposts on the cosmic map are all pointing towards the future.

We are collectively closing a chapter and beginning a new one.  For each of us, as individuals, it is a powerful time to break free of limiting beliefs and behaviours.  Aquarius energy is rebellious and we may be releasing inherited family patterns and outdated ideas.    We are all unique and there is no better time than now to express our individuality.

The cosmic forces have conspired to create a catalyst moment.  With the Saturn / Neptune conjunction occurring in just a few days’ time, this is a gateway to new dreams and new intentions for us to manifest into reality.  We can expect breakdowns, breakthroughs and an opportunity for us to break out from constrictions.

There may be sudden events that bring a much-needed realisation to our life situation. The energy of a solar eclipse, however, can reverberate for several months to come, so it may be that events happening now, will take time to create changes in our day-to-day reality.

The Aquarian new moon is also the start of the Chinese New Year, which in Chinese Astrology is the year of the Fire Horse.  This correlates with the symbolism in Western Astrology which indicates, momentum, forward motion and determination.

Set your intentions and get ready to move forward with power and grace.

Titled, ‘Inception’ this painting implies powerful beginnings and captures the symbolism of the Chinese New Year.
