Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Virgo 3rd March 2026

The full moon occurring on 3rd March 2026 is also a powerful lunar eclipse.  The emphasis is on bringing the past into our conscious awareness so that we can process it.

The sun is in Pisces and the moon is in Virgo.  The symbolism is around healing, releasing and clearing – particularly relating to our childhood, family trauma and inherited beliefs passed on from our ancestors

What can we expect?

A lunar eclipse, is considered an intense full moon and Pisces / Virgo, highlights the tension between disillusion and discernment.  What was previously unconscious can be brought into awareness.

The Earth is casting a shadow over the moon. Symbolically this is our reality eclipsing our emotions.  This does not mean we can hide our feelings, rather anything we have been hiding will be brought into stark view under the light of the full moon.

During an eclipse portal, we are at a threshold, where we are being asked to shed any limiting beliefs, patterns or behaviours that do not resonate with us.

With Mercury in retrograde, our mind will be active.  Some questions to ask:

Who are we now?

Where have we outgrown our old identity?

What do we no longer need?

Astrologically, the symbolism is focused on us expressing ourselves within a new, emerging identity.

The planetary alignments are supporting us to move forward with confidence.

This is an inflection point within a longer cycle.

Historically, lunar eclipses were linked to rulers and nations with the moon symbolised as the people.  There could be shifts of power as something is brought into our collective awareness, awakening a realisation and altering our perspective.

Abstract expressionist, Kandinsky, painted the energy, vibration and frequency of the cosmos.
